Kentucky Remembers is a two-day event to honor and remember our nation, heroes and first responders and is held in Owensboro on the first Saturday in November. The two-day celebration will feature 5K, 1 mile walk and Fun Run for Little Warriors, Veterans Day Parade, Military Ball, and For Faith & Country Concert.
Saturday, November 9th: 7am-Race Day, Registration inside the RiverPark Center; 8am-Opening Ceremony at the Shelton Memorial; 8:05am -5K Run; 8:10am-1 Mile Walk begins; 9AM- Fun Run for Little Warriors; 9:10am-Awards; 9:15am-Free Hot Breakfast at the VFW Post 696.
Saturday, November 9th: 2:00pm- Owensboro-Daviess County Veterans Day Parade. Soldiers from Fort Campbell and our Kentucky National Guard along with local high school ROTC organizations are all part of this longest running Veterans Day Parade.
Saturday, November 9th: 6:00PM-Veterans and active duty from all service branches are invited to attend the Kentucky Remembers Military Ball at the Owensboro Convention Center. Attendees are asked to “dress to impress”, military personnel from all service branches are encouraged, but not required, to wear their dress uniforms as permitted. 5:00PM Pictures by Dream Copy followed by program and remarks. Tickets are $30 per person, email [email protected] for tickets.
Sunday, November 10th: 3:00PM-Bluegrass Music Hall of Fame and Museum-For Faith & Country Concert to thank the community and to honor our heroes. The concert will feature guest artists, musicians, and speakers.
