This easy, no-bake ice cream cake is built with layers of buttery Oreo crust, your favorite ice cream, a rich hot-fudge Oreo crunch, and fluffy Cool Whip. Choose any ice cream flavors you love, or mix and match for a completely custom cake!
Ingredients
For the Oreo crust
›› 24 Oreo cookies
›› 5 tablespoons butter, melted
›› For the ice cream layers
›› 2–3 quarts ice cream, softened slightly
›› Any flavor or combination of flavors you like
›› For the hot-fudge Oreo layer
›› 20–24 Oreo cookies, filling removed
›› ¾–1 cup hot fudge sauce
For the topping
›› 8 ounces Cool Whip, thawed
›› Additional Oreos, crushed or whole
›› Hot fudge or chocolate sauce, for drizzling
›› Additional garnishes as desired
Instructions
Prepare the crust.
Crush the Oreos into fine crumbs and combine with the melted butter. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of a 9-inch springform pan. Freeze for 15–20 minutes to set.
Add the first ice cream layer.
Allow your ice cream to soften until it is easy to spread but not melted. Spoon a generous layer of ice cream over the Oreo crust and smooth the top. Return the pan to the freezer until the layer is firm, about 30–45 minutes.
Make the hot-fudge Oreo crunch.
Remove the filling from the Oreos and crush the cookies into small pieces. Stir in enough hot fudge to thoroughly coat the cookie crumbs and create a thick, fudgy mixture.
Add the Oreo crunch layer.
Spread the hot-fudge Oreo mixture evenly over the first ice cream layer.
Add the second ice cream layer.
Add another generous layer of softened ice cream and smooth the top. Freeze until completely firm, at least 4 hours or preferably overnight.
Finish the cake.
Once frozen solid, spread Cool Whip over the top. Garnish with crushed or whole Oreos, a drizzle of hot fudge, chocolate shavings, sprinkles, or any other toppings you like.
Serve.
Let the cake sit at room temperature for about 10–15 minutes before slicing. Carefully release the springform pan and cut with a warm knife.
Flavor Ideas
The best part of this cake is that the ice cream flavors are completely up to you! Use one flavor for both layers or choose two different flavors for a fun combination. Classic vanilla and chocolate work beautifully, but don’t be afraid to get creative.
