Children ages 3–10 can enjoy themed learning and play with storytime, crafts, and hands-on science experiments. The first session begins at 11 a.m. with storytime and a craft, followed by a science experiment at 11:30 a.m. The second session begins at 12 p.m., with a science experiment at 12:30 p.m. Free with museum admission.

The annual Harvest Festival features craft and food vendors, nonprofit booths, games, homemade baked goods, local produce, and plenty of fall fun. Festival admission is free. A ticketed demolition derby begins at 6 p.m. Saturday.

This inclusive, sensory-friendly Touch-A-Truck event gives guests the chance to explore trucks and equipment up close, meet the people who operate them, and learn how the vehicles serve the community. Food trucks will also be on site. Admission is free. Rain date is October 21.
Happy Halloween Weekends at Holiday World

Holiday World celebrates spooky season with family-friendly Halloween fun alongside many of the park’s favorite rides. This year’s festivities include the Dino Corn Maze Adventure, where two dozen life-sized dinosaurs — including roaring and moving animatronics — have taken over 12 acres of corn mazes. Families can also enjoy hayrides, Kitty’s 3D Candy Farm, Halloween shows and activities, and a Trick-or-Treat Trail for children 12 and younger. On Saturday nights, 500 synchronized drones and pyrotechnics bring prehistoric creatures to the sky during the Dinos Soar in the Sky show.
16th Annual Kentucky Wesleyan Car, Truck & Jeep Show

Kentucky Wesleyan College
Cars, trucks, Jeeps, and unique vehicles of all years and models will fill the Kentucky Wesleyan front lawn during this annual show benefiting the men’s basketball team. Public admission is free and the day also includes vendors, concessions, music, raffles, door prizes, and awards.

Hundreds of custom cars, trucks, motorcycles, Jeeps, and UTVs create the backdrop for a family Halloween night featuring trunk-or-treating, inflatables, putt-putt, face painting, costume contests, food trucks, vendors, and music. After dark, custom lighting and underglow transform the automotive show into a glowing Halloween display. The event supports Beverly’s Hearty Slice and will be held rain or shine.

Veterans Day Parade

The annual Veterans Day Parade travels along 2nd Street before continuing toward Veterans Boulevard and the Shelton Memorial and Gold Star Monument. The community is invited to line the route and honor local veterans and their service.
Give Cancer the Boot

This evening of music and art benefits patients and families of the Mitchell Memorial Cancer Center through the Owensboro Health Foundation. The event features live music headlined by Cam Thompson and live painting by artist Aaron Kizer.
89th Annual Owensboro-Daviess County Christmas Parade

One of Owensboro’s longest-running holiday traditions returns with the theme “The Sounds of Christmas.” The parade begins at 2nd and Pearl streets and features festive floats, community groups, holiday music, and grand marshals the Blue Bridge Boys.
